8.3 PROGRAMME OF DIPLOMA IN ARCHITECTURE
8.3.1 PROGRAMME SYNOPSIS
The The Diploma in Architecture is promise to produce holistic, balanced and entrepreneurial graduates through its
programme’s design and delivery. The programme will provide graduates with the technical knowledge and design skills
to work in the construction industry or pursue further studies in a related field. The programme is focused on the technical-
design discipline, and the courses are studio-based with project-oriented learning approaches. In addition to the discipline
core courses, elective courses are offered for the students to explore new interest areas as well as enhance their
competencies in the discipline core. To ensure that students possess the interpersonal and communication skills needed
to thrive in the industry, teamwork and leadership roles, group discussions, seminars and presentations are embedded
in the course delivery and assessments.
8.3.2 PROGRAMME AIMS
The programme aims to enable its graduates to be able to continuously adapt to changes within the building design
industry. They are able to do this as they posses the required knowledge, skills and attitude to further enhance their
social economic functions. The knowledge and technical skills acquired will enable the students to further blend into the
architectural business environment as they are able to appreciate the purpose of architecture and therefore assist
architects with their duties. Their knowledge and skills will also enable them to further expand their social-economic
capacities and further fulfill their ambition within the architectural domain. The programme also aims to create adaptive
graduates whom are able to use as their communication and entrepreneurial skills to meet future challenges. By
encouraging and motivating the graduates to appreciate cultural and ecological concerns, it is also the programme’s
aspiration to create a healthy and fulfilling future for the society.
This programme also believes that every individual has the potential to be creative, innovative and responsible senior
architectural technical assistant in supporting the country's aspiration towards efficient systematic and sustainable
construction development

The knowledge and skills that the students acquire from the Diploma in Architecture
