Sometimes a phrasal verb (put on / take off etc.) has an object. For example:

You can say: You can say:
put on your coat take off you r s hoes
or put your coat on or take your shoes off
But it/them (pronouns) always go before on/off etc. :
put it on (not put on it) take them off (not take off them)
0 It was cold, so I put on my coat. 0 I'm going to take off my shoes.
or ... I put my coat on. or ... take my shoes off.
O 日 ere's your coat. Put it on. 0 Your shoes are dirty. Take them off.
Some more phrasal verbs 十 object:
turn on / turn off (Iights, machines, taps etc.):
TURN OFF
0 It was dark, so I turned on the Iight. -며~
or ... I turned the light on.
0 I don't want to watch this programme.
ON OFF
You can turn it off.
also switch on / switch off (l ights, machi nes etc.): SWITCH
0 I switched on the light and switched off the television.
pick up / put down:

or ... put down my book.
bring back / take back / give back / put back:
