A walk around the bounds of Hay Parish. Starting in the centre of Hay-on-Wye, the walk will wind its way up to Henallt Common and then on towards Hay Bluff before descending towards Cusop Dingle. Quite strenuous in places and may be wet and boggy.

We walk around the Doward area of the Wye Valley, introducing a new smartphone app called ‘Voyages in Deep Time’ which will help you to observe the rocks encountered en route and understand what they tell us about the landscapes that existed here millions of years ago. Available to download to your own smartphone beforehand although some small tablets available.

In the Footsteps of Merrily Watkins

A brief walking tour with the local author of the Merrily Watkins series, Phil Rickman. Phil will highlight Hereford locations of some good, bad and sometimes very ugly scenes from his popular Merrily Watkins books. He will also show us a few city filming locations from Midwinter of the Spirit ITV Series from a couple of years ago featuring Anna Maxwell-Martin and David Threlfall. Books will be available to buy from Hereford Tourist Information before the walk and on the day.
