Cyfarthfa Castle is surrounded by parkland. The main building has displays on the
history of local iron making, a collection of 19th Century paintings, pottery and
porcelain, Far-Eastern antiques and brass bands. There are also temporary
exhibitions. The main entrance has a flight of wide steps with a ramp at the side of
the building. Most of the exhibits are on one level with a stair lift to exhibitions in the
basement. Most of the paths in the grounds have a tarmac surface, the circular route
of the park has some shallow slopes. There is seating along the paths and a picnic
area. Some of the routes in the park have vehicle access. Wheelchair users may
require assistance to enter the building. There is an entry fee for the museum.
How to get there: Cyfarthfa Castle is situated alongside the A4054 north of Merthyr Tydfil.

Parking: Free car parking, with disabled spaces in front of the main Castle building.

Facilities: Please phone for opening times and other accessibility details. There is a café
and shop on site and more shops and cafes in Merthyr. A wheelchair is available for loan.
