Then go just N of E for 500m across a field to reach a T junction of roads at a gate and stile. With your back to the gate, go straight ahead E along the road and bend left to follow the road past white houses in Felindre to reach the A479 main road opposite The Farmers Arms. The Mynydd Ddu tea room is along the main road 40m to the right.
From B , Cross the main road and walk up the minor road past the pub and church. Continue up the lane for 700m, then turn right up a steep, narrow lane opposite a house (Pen-cae-crwn). The lane bends to the right, you pass through a wood and continue upwards and left towards a house (Llewenau) at the end of the metalled road C .
Before reaching the house, follow the black and white Beacons Way waymarks up a bank to the right to two stiles. At the second stile you reach open moorland. Go right.
Follow the line of the mountain wall or fence for the next 5km (about 2 hours) with occasional white Beacons Way waymarks. The path crosses numerous streams and is sometimes up to 200m uphill from the wall/fence. In the summer bracken can obscure the main path but sheep/pony tracks are helpful. At Cwm Mawr as you pass close to a house, follow the path uphill half left to cut across the hill above disused stone quarries.
The path runs close to the wall and a plantation of semi-mature conifer trees (spruce and pine). At the end of these trees with the Darren cliffs high up to the left, look out for waymark posts which guide you right and down, off the open mountain to a gate leading to a path between stone walls. Follow the walls and after a stile and a gate, follow the white Beacons Way waymarks (not the yellow ones) to the left of some ruined farm buildings down to a stile and concrete drive below a white house (Twyn) D .
Walk down the drive to Gwernvale Farm. At the farmyard turn right and walk down the road all the way to the A40 main road, passing several houses including the former Pregge Mill. Ignore a turning to the left with a Beacons Way waymark. At the main road turn left and pass the old school, now Arts Alive Wales. Cross the main road at the zebra crossing and go down Everest Drive ignoring side roads. At the end of the road go down a path, over a stream and walk in front of the High School buildings to reach New Road near a zebra crossing.
Cross the road, go right then immediately left to pass beside the church, then go straight on past the library to High Street. Go left then right on the main road to arrive at the Crickhowell Resource and InformationCentre(CRiC) E .
