NEGES O'R CAPLAN
A MESSAGE
FROM THE CHAPLAIN
Take a look at the small print in the club season ticket or programme and you’ll see that amongst the officials there is a chaplain.
As vicar of Llandovery it is a pleasure for me to be a memberofLlandoveryRugbyClub. Iknewfromthe beginning of my time in Llandovery that rugby counted for a lot here - at my induction service as the new vicar, Club Chairman Handel presented me with a rugby ball.
I have a suspicion that Handel enrolled me as chaplain hoping that I would be a lucky mascot - the first time I came to see the Drovers play they secured a decisive (andnecessary!)36-0victory! Sorrytodisappoint, but the chaplain is not a lucky charm, and cannot guarantee a win every time!
WhatIcanpromiseisalisteningear. Aschaplaintothe Club and as vicar of Llandovery and Myddfai, I am there for you if you want to speak confidentially about any issues that concern you.
Sometimes people suggest that I can have a word with the Almighty that will guarantee the weather or secure a winsomeotherway! Itdoesn’tusuallyworkquitelikethat, but perhaps it does no harm to remember that there is someone greater than us.
I hope to get value from my season ticket by getting to as manyhomegamesasIcan. Ilookforwardtoseeingyou there.
