This tour takes you inside the roofed Jacobean section of the castle to discover the varied history of this fascinating site, introducing some of the characters involved in the different eras that the Castle represents. Visit the front of the Norman keep, the curtain wall and some of the more recent discoveries and ideas. Some steps and uneven ground.
In the afternoon, follow the Wye Valley Walk in part with one short climb, to Lowes. Visit the church and learn the tragic story of Mary Morgan.
