Paths through meadow, pasture and woodland take you to locations where Brian Hatton (1887-1916) is thought to have conceived some
of his pictures.
Hatton explored the theme of the noble peasant & the dignity of labour, empathising with the strength and muscularity of working horses & the harmony of man and beast working together on the dark red Herefordshire soil.

Adam Horovitz, Herefordshire’s Poet in Residence and Glenn Storhaug of Five Seasons Press will lead a walk around this renowned Norman church with most remarkable red sandstone carvings.
Along the way there will be readings and memories from the Kilpeck Anthology, which included poems from Frances Horovitz, Seamus Heaney and others.

Led by James Bisset, local ‘batman’ and orchard enthusiast, an introductory talk on bats and orchards will lead you around the edge of Bodenham Lake, then via the River Lugg, Bodenham Church and old Bodenham village listening and looking for signs of those special ‘Angels of the Night’ – bats.
Free loan, bat detectors will be provided or BYO, along with a torch just in case! Why not arrive early to explore Bodenham Lake Nature Reserve, home to a breeding otter population and visit the bird hide.
