Catch the Hay Ho! Bus from Hereford & alight at Peterchurch
in the Golden Valley.
The walk rises out of the Golden Valley to Birchy Hill and follows the ridge to Vowchurch Common before descending to Vowchurch. From the superb viewpoints, the leaders will describe how travel writers over the decades have written about the Golden Valley and the Black Mountains. One main climb and some stiles. Bus fares payable on the day.

Major Herbert Rowse Armstrong was the only solicitor in the UK
ever to be hanged, on 31 May 1922.
He was convicted of murdering his wife with arsenic. He worked in Hay & lived in Cusop. This two-mile walk takes in the relevant sites to explain the story of the events, perhaps with the suggestion that the trial evidence was insecure.
