He tapped the page. “Erasing disagreement
before people speak. That’s not peace, that’s
sedation.”
She opened her laptop. “There’s more. Look.”
A live map filled the screen—cities glowing red
where conversations had collapsed. Berlin, Toronto,
Osaka, Lagos.
Each pulse meant another “silence field.”
Henry frowned. “It’s spreading geometrically.”
Carolina zoomed in on Lisbon. “See this node?
Signal density is highest under the river. Jinji’s file
said she’s below the Tejo. There’s something down
there.”
He remembered the hum beneath the Well. “If
Sofia’s consciousness survived anywhere, it would
be in the infrastructure she built.”
