recognize the flip side of them and their impact on those
around you. Also bear in mind that whatever your per-
sonality type, it is transmitting a tremendous amount of
information to others. Be aware of what you’re sending.
Controllers: Do you look aggressive or intimidating to
people?
Analysts: Are you letting yourself appear standoffish
or superior?
Persuaders: Do your many flamboyant gestures seem
to confuse people?
Dreamers: Do people wonder if you’re paying atten-
tion to them?
Even if you’re dealing with a customer, client, or col-
league you’ve known for years, once you understand
their personality type, it will make a difference next time
you connect.
