LESS STRESS: MORE YES
But she was desperate. The stress of her life, even
with all the changes she'd made, still lingered. It was
like a stubborn shadow, always lurking in the
background, ready to pounce.
She realized that she'd been focusing on changing
her external circumstances – her work, her habits, her
relationships. But she hadn't addressed the root of the
problem: her mind.
Her mind was a battlefield. A constant barrage of
thoughts, worries, and negative self-talk. It was like
she had a committee of anxious gremlins living in her
head, constantly chattering and creating chaos.
She thought about her "Yes" Inventory. Calmness.
Focus. Resilience. Her current mind game was the
opposite of all those things. She needed a new
strategy.
She decided to take a mental intervention.
She consulted a mindfulness teacher. A practical,
grounded woman who understood the skepticism of
busy, modern people.
"Meditation isn't about emptying your mind," she
told Billie. "It's about training your attention. It's
about learning to observe your thoughts without
getting carried away by them."
