It wasn't about becoming a social butterfly. It was
about nurturing meaningful relationships, deepening
existing connections, and creating a support system
that enriched her life.
Billie started small. She reached out to a friend she
hadn't spoken to in months. They met for coffee,
talked for hours, and rekindled their friendship.
She scheduled regular game nights with her
friends. She looked forward to those evenings, the
laughter, the camaraderie, the break from the
pressures of work.
She practiced active listening. When she was with
someone, she put her phone away, made eye contact,
and truly listened to what they were saying. She found
that her conversations became more meaningful and
more fulfilling.
She allowed herself to be vulnerable. She shared

insecurities. She was surprised by the support and
