Not hours later, after the damage was done. Not
tomorrow, when she was already burned out. Right

She walked briskly down the sidewalk, dodging
the throngs of people. Her phone buzzed. Another
email. Another demand.
She felt her shoulders tighten. Her jaw clench. The
