LESS STRESS: MORE YES
Later that day, in another pressure-cooker meeting
(this time with a client who seemed to enjoy making
unreasonable demands), she felt the familiar tightness
in her throat.
She excused herself. "Just need to grab some
water," she said, her voice surprisingly steady.
In the hallway, she found a quiet corner. And she
used the 60-Second Stress Buster.
Three deep breaths.
It worked again.
She returned to the meeting, her demeanor
transformed. She was still assertive, still focused, but
she wasn't reactive. She wasn't on edge. She was in
control.
The client, perhaps sensing the shift, seemed less…
aggressive. The meeting ended without a full-blown
meltdown.
Billie realized something profound. The 60-
Second Stress Buster wasn't just about breathing. It
was about creating a pause. An interruption in the
cycle of stress.
