NICHOLAS BOOTHMAN
It was about taking a moment to step back, to
regain perspective, to choose how she wanted to
respond, rather than simply reacting.
She started to incorporate other techniques into
her 60-second arsenal.
• The Mental Reset: She would visualize a
peaceful scene. A quiet beach. A snow-capped
mountain. Anything that calmed her mind and
broke the cycle of anxious thoughts.
• The Body Scan: She would quickly scan her
body, noticing where she was holding tension.
Her jaw. Her shoulders. Her stomach. And
she would consciously release that tension.
• The Gratitude Moment: She would think of
one thing she was grateful for. A simple
pleasure. A kind gesture. A small victory.
Shifting her focus, even for a few seconds,
helped to disrupt the negative thought
patterns.
She discovered that the 60-Second Stress Buster
wasn't a one-size-fits-all solution. It was a flexible tool,
a collection of techniques that she could adapt to
different situations.
