LESS STRESS: MORE YES
The Time Bandit, she realized. And the Guilt
Trip. They had conspired to steal her joy, to convince
her that those things were frivolous, a waste of time.
But they weren't. They were essential. They were
the fuel that kept her going. They were the reason she
was fighting against stress in the first place.
She decided to take action.
She scheduled time for reading. She joined a
hiking group. She signed up for a painting class. She
made plans to see a live band with friends. She started
experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. She
enrolled in an online course on a subject that had
always fascinated her.
It wasn't easy, at first. It felt strange, even a little
selfish, to prioritize these things.
The Guilt Trip tried to creep back in. You should
be working. You should be catching up on emails.
You should be doing something more productive.
But Billie pushed back. She used her 60-Second
Stress Buster. She reminded herself of her "no"
boundaries. She focused on the positive feelings that
these activities brought her.
