3. Stop Trying, Start Doing
The next time you catch yourself saying, "Oh, I'll try
to do that," stop right there. Take a step back and
reassess. Are you really going to try, or are you going to
do it?
"Try" is a tricky little word. It's like a get-out-of-jail-
free card for not really committing to anything. It's a
safety net—a built-in excuse for not giving it your all.
If you want to motivate yourself or others, you‘ve got
to ditch the "try" mentality. It's all about action, about
going all in with no hesitations. Don't just try; do it.
Give it your best shot and don't let that little word "try"
hold you back.
I know this seems like a picky distinction, but as you
read on, you‘ll realize the importance of self-talk, not just
to your conscious mind but to your unconscious mind. J.

writer." She grabbed her pen, her paper, her baby, and
her ideas and roamed from café to café around the streets
