Back at their safe-house in East Jerusalem, they
decoded the scans.
“It’s clean,” Jinji said. “Fragment Nine locks
between Bento’s loop and the Mirror Protocol.”
Carolina’s tone sharpened. “It’s resilience.
Without this, the God Word breaks people.”
Henry studied the spiral chart on the wall. Piece
by piece, the structure was taking shape. And in the
center an open void.
“Three fragments left,” he said.
Jinji’s fingers flew. “We’ve got pings on two:
Porto Covo and Fátima. But the last one? No trace.”
Henry turned to the window. “It’s hidden inside
someone.”
“Who?” Carolina asked.
Henry didn’t answer. Not yet. But the unease
coiling in his chest told him the cost wouldn’t just
be time.
