The safe house was silent, save for the hum of Jinji’s servers. A heavy knock shook the door. Logan Edwards stood in the hallway, nothing like the polished CFO Henry remembered. He looked smaller. Eyes red. Seventy-two hours of collapse written across his face.
“I saw the news. Cerulean. The safety reports. The deaths.”
Henry didn't move from his monitors. "I'm sure you have a 'Sympathy Pivot' ready for the shareholders, Logan".
"There is no pivot for this, Henry.” Logan’s voice was jagged. "“I keep thinking about Dr. Sharma. About how we priced her silence. And the people who died because of it.
“I told myself it was business. It wasn’t. She didn't just die; we murdered her."
He reached into his pocket and slid a thumb drive across the desk.
“Internal logs. Bribes. Offshore accounts. Proof we knew about the cooling failure weeks before the first death.”
