Claire laughed.

Logan looked at her. “I deserve that.” “You deserve worse.” “Yes.”
Henry said, “You helped Cerulean bury forty-seven people.”
“So did you.”
Claire’s eyes flashed.
“I’m not here for absolution,” he said. “I’m here because the world you built cannot function without the thing you just pretended not to build.”
Jinji said, “The Palliative was an emergency patch.”
“Everything becomes an emergency now,” Logan said. “Medical approvals. grid decisions. food distribution. refugee processing. supply chains. Child custody. War declarations. Disaster response. Your system demands clean truth from dirty reality. It will stall every time the sentence required to act is not perfectly true.”
Henry looked at Vincent. Vincent’s face revealed nothing. Logan continued.
“You need infrastructure.”
“For lying?” Jinji said.
