 The Truth About Lying
They were wrong.
It was overload.
Marriages detonated in hours. Lifelong trust dissolved in a single sentence. People said things they didn’t understand to people who didn’t know how to hear them.
There was no space for context. No time for forgiveness. Just exposure.
And exposure, without compassion, became violence. The suicides started in the third week.
By the second month, entire communities were unraveling faster than anyone could respond.
By the end of the first year, the truth was undeniable:
Verax wasn’t revealing reality.
It was stripping away the illusion that made reality survivable.
So they made the hardest decision in human history. They turned it off.
Not cleanly.
Not completely.
They broke it apart.
Slowed it down.
They put humans back in the loop. Truth would no longer be enforced. It would be argued.
Interpreted.
Carried.
