"When?"
"Three days ago. It just hit the news.”
He sat down hard. Dr. Sharma. The woman who'd called him. Who'd told him he was complicit. Who'd done the right thing and been destroyed for it.
"This is on us," Claire said quietly. "We created the world where she couldn't survive."
"No," Henry said. "The world where she couldn't survive already existed. We just made it visible."
"That's a fucking cop-out, Henry. She's dead. And we're part of the reason why."
"She's dead because she told the truth and the world punished her for it. We're trying to change that world."
"By creating more casualties?"
Henry didn't have an answer.
Jinji broke the silence. "We have a decision to make. “We shut it down—or we keep going.”
"What do you want to do?" Vincent asked.
"I want to keep going. Because if we stop now, Dr. Sharma died for nothing. All the people who've been hurt by lies, they'll keep being hurt. We can't stop now."
