Do carbohydrates make you fat?
This holds true for white bread, but not for potatoes,
legumes, or vegetables. The fibre in these foods is ideal fuel
for our microbiome, even supporting weight loss by keeping
you feeling full for longer.
Does fat make you fat?
This is a widespread misconception. Healthy fats, like those
found in nuts, avocados and flaxseed oil, are essential for our
bodies. They support cell structure, hormone production,
and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. What truly
matters is both quality and quantity. Harmful fats, on the
other hand, are mainly found in saturated and trans fats,
which are present in animal products such as meat, as well
as in processed foods, fried foods, pastries, and sweets.
What’s the best way to quit sugar?
Take it step by step! Begin by gradually cutting back, then
replace sugar with alternatives like spices or fruit, such as
berries. After 10 to 14 days, cravings will noticeably diminish,
and your taste buds will begin to ‘reset’. Another helpful tip is
to use bitter drops or consume bitter foods and drinks (such
as chicory or dandelion coffee) to curb sugar cravings.
What’s the ideal amount of water to drink each day?
As a general rule for adults, aim for about 30-40 ml of water
per kilogram of body weight. Coffee, tea, soup, fruit, and
vegetables also contribute to your daily fluid intake. The
colour of your urine is a good indicator: light = well hydrated,
dark yellow = lacking in fluids.

aid digestion, provide tangible support for your
well-being. Each meal transforms into a holistic expe-
rience for both body and mind, perfectly aligned with
the principles of Modern Mayr Medicine and the
MAYRLIFE Health Concept.
What role does nutrition play in the prevention and
treatment of chronic illnesses?
Modern lifestyles often contribute to silent inflam-
mation, gut imbalances, and metabolic disruptions –
this is where nutrition plays a pivotal role. When har-
nessed correctly, it can alleviate chronic conditions,
support the body’s natural healing processes, and, in
some cases, reduce or even eliminate the need for
medication.
Which foods help prevent illness and might even
contribute to longevity?
Primarily, whole, plant-based foods: leafy greens
such as broccoli, spinach, and kale, antioxidant-rich
