dead on the cross and rise again in three days. This saying
He had spoken of was the second prediction. However, the

disciples at this time did not become aware at all and nor
understand the words of Jesus’ notice. This is because we

can understand spiritually and receive it as our own when
the Holy Spirit comes and gives the testimony of the Holy

                Spirit to us.

In the verse of Matthew 17:24, it says that After Je-
sus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors

of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’
t your teacher pay the temple tax?” In this verse, Caper-
naum was located on the sea in the region of Galilee, and

the two-drachma tax referred to the temple tax that was

collected only for the sons of the Israelite over the age of
                20. It was called “the ransom of life” by paying the two-
drachma tax once a year, the smallest amount for God’s

grace that God brought Israel out of Egypt. That’s why

those who collected the two-drachma tax asked like this,
‘Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax? Why doesn’t He

pay taxes?’ Then in the verse of 25, “Yes, he does,” he re-
plied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first

to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From
whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—

from their own sons or from others?”, and in the verse of

                                                                     5
