ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT

I hereby acknowledge that I have received a copy of the Vulcan Materials
Company Safety & Health Handbook. I understand that as a condition of my
employment with Vulcan or its subsidiaries I must adhere to the rules and
procedures contained in this Handbook. If I fail to comply with these safety
& health rules and procedures, I understand that I may be subject to
disciplinary action up to and including termination and that termination may
be administered on a first offense depending on the nature and severity of
the infraction/violation.

I understand that the headings used in the Handbook identify general
categories of rules and that I should be familiar with them even if I do not
currently work in that area. In other words, I understand that I am
responsible for being familiar with all safety & health rules and procedures
that may apply to the work I do for or on behalf of Vulcan at any given time.
