Rite Journey 3 Day Camp
During Week 8, the Year 9s went on their Rite Journey Camp to the Flinders Ranges. Their first day was spent hiking through Alligator Gorge. That night the girls stayed together
to cook their own meals on trangia stoves. The boys however camped solo! This was a very important part of The Rite Journey Programme and was one of the major challenges that they needed to complete. On the second night, it was the girls’ turn to camp solo! Camping solo involved pitching their tents well away from each other to allow for quiet reflection without the distraction of any of their campmates.
It was encouraging to observe many students conquering fears doing mountain bike riding, rock climbing, abseiling and bush walking. Many deep and meaningful conversations were had around the camp fire.
