  Policy Corner
 Electronic Devices
Welcome to the Harvest Policy Corner where we address some of the current policies used within the College.
Electronic Device Policy/Procedure
Harvest encourages the use of technology for educational purposes, but also recognises that mobile phones can be distracting for students during the school day. For that reason, mobile phones and communication watches (such as watches with a sim card) need to be handed in by students to their Homegroup teacher in the morning, and then placed in a securely locked cupboard or drawer by the teacher.
Any student found with their phone or communications device during the day will have it confiscated and left in the front office. In order to retrieve the device, a parent/caregiver must pick it up after school, or it will be kept locked away overnight for collection in the morning by the student.
We appreciate your support on this, and understand that you may want to contact your child during the school day for various important reasons. If this is the case, please phone the Front Office on 8821 4945, and the office staff will relay your message to your child.
This policy can be found on the Parent Portal, or at this link:

  Important Reminder
 If your child is away from school, it is important that you notify us as soon as possible, preferably prior to the start of the school day on which they are absent, with an explanation for their absence. You can do this by emailing your child’s Homegroup teacher or the Front Office.
In line with our Student Attendance Policy/Procedure, which is available on the Parent Portal, parents and caregivers need to:
• ensure their child arrives at the College or commences their educational program on time every day;
• minimise disrupting their child’s school day so their child has the best opportunity to learn;
• contact the College prior to any planned absences;
• provide an explanation (in writing) for each absence, prior to or on the day of the child’s return to the
College;
• provide a medical certificate to the College on the day of the child’s return to the College if the child
was away for three or more consecutive days due to illness; and
• ensure their child follows the College’s recommended processes and procedures for late arrival and
early departure.

Disabled Car Parks
We kindly request that you avoid utilising the designated disabled parking
spots located in front of the College for the purpose of quick pick-ups or drop-offs.
This practice has resulted in individuals who rely on these parking spots being unable to access them. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding on this issue.
