COMMUNICATIONS POLICY
Purpose
To ensure that all lines of communication are clear, transparent and understood, and that
responsibility for communication is assigned to appropriate personnel.
This Policy relates to both inward and outward communication and is designed to:
Avoid misunderstanding by external parties of AYO policy or strategy.
Protect AYO from unnecessary adverse publicity.
Strengthen internal lines of communication and Player confidence/morale.

Chairman
All communication with the media shall be referred to and dealt with by the Chairman in the
first instance, with matters referred to the Executive Committee should the need arise.
All Players may make direct contact with the Chairman should the need arise.
The Chairman shall ensure that a relationship with appropriate advisors is maintained and
that adequate training is provided to Staff.
Other
All communication with Supporters and funders shall, unless specifically delegated, be the
responsibility of the Communications Officer.
Players must refer all external enquiries concerning funder or Supporter matters to the
Communications Officer in the first instance. Any issues that arise are to be reported to the
Chairman who, if necessary, shall raise the issue with the Executive Committee.
