accuser of Christ and the brethren. He still
basely accused God of injustice, and laid upon
Him the blame of the rebellion. On earth, he
was exerting every effort to establish a
government that would not be overthrown; in
the council, he was striving to prove that his
lack of success was due to interference with
his plans by the God of heaven.
In the fullness of time, the Prince of Peace
came to the earth. In the heart of the
government of the enemy He lived a sinless
life. The will of God was done by Him as it is
constantly done in heaven. But the sinless One
was slain: the cross was the reward of virtue,
when Satan meted out the judgment. Unfallen
worlds watched and wondered; and as Christ
