needed to make the number complete. Let not
the burden bearer think, that because he bears
the heavy burdens he is the most important.
He is only one twelfth part of the whole. One
company will represent Levi, whose life
seemed a failure through sin; and yet through
victory in God, the Levites became teachers in
Israel. And of unstable Reuben it is said, “Let
Reuben live, and not die.” He became the
“excellency of dignity, and the excellency of
power.” Judah represents the leaders, those
