Chapter 3 – The Fiery Ordeal

set up; 6. And whoso falleth not down and

worshipeth shall the same hour be cast into

the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 7.

Therefore, at that time, when all the people

heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp,

sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the

people, the nations, and the languages, fell

down and worshiped the golden image that

Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

The dedication of this image was made a great

occasion. The chief men of all the kingdom

were gathered together; so much pains and

expense will men undergo in sustaining

idolatrous and heathen systems of worship.

So it is and ever has been. Alas, that those who

have the true religion should be so far outdone

in these respects by the upholders of the false
