The members of the NYSAPLS Auxiliary held another successful
program during the conference. On Wednesday, they held their
annual meeting and elected new officers. Throughout the week, the
ladies enjoyed spa visits, attended QuickBooks lessons, played games,
got “crafty” making beautiful handmade cards, and held a fun fashion
show and brunch. A heartfelt thank you to Barbara Marvin for your
longtime service to the Auxiliary and your continued support and
planning of the Auxiliary programs. Additionally, a big thank you to
Lauren Edsall for assisting with the planning of the 2023 program.
Congratulations to the 2023 Auxiliary Officers:

On Thursday evening, the Young Professionals Committee kicked off
their annual networking reception with the combined efforts of the
New York surveying schools for a “Young Professionals and Alumni
Social”. Conference attendees were invited to meet up with young
professionals, college alumni and current students from Alfred State,
SUNY ESF Ranger School and Paul Smiths College for cocktails and

Following the YP/Alumni networking event, the Surveyors Social
began, co-sponsored by the Long Island Association of Land Surveyors
and Islip Land Surveying, PC; additional sponsors included Mid-
Hudson Valley Land Surveyors Association (floral arrangements) and
Landmax Data Systems (dinner programs). The event began with
a cocktail reception. Afterward, the new officers were led into the
ballroom by a local bag pipe band and officially installed by Trustee,
Glennon Watson, LS. The celebration continued after dinner with our
annual scholarship auction to benefit the Shaw Scholarship Fund and
live music provided by Steve Laureti. Between the 50/50 raffle and
both live and silent auctions, the association proudly raised over $7000
for the Shaw Scholarship Fund!
On Friday, the final day of our event, attendees visited with the
exhibitors one last time and attended morning educational sessions.
After classes, our Annual Membership Meeting was held followed
by the NYSAPLS Board of Directors meeting (reconvened from
their Tuesday night meeting) and the Shaw Fund Annual Meeting.
Minutes for the NYSAPLS board and annual meetings can be found
