PENN STATE UNIVERSITY
Penn College of Technology
This is the largest building initiative ever undertaken by Penn College, a special mission affiliate of Penn
State University. The projects included a new 120,000-square-foot, 275-bed, student housing facility;
70,000-square-foot expansion and renovations to the Parkes Automotive Technology Center; major
renovations and additions to the Avco-Lycoming Metal Trades-Machining Technologies Center for welding
technology and the metallurgic sciences; and 160,000 square feet of renovations to the Hager Lifelong
Education Center, which was retrofitted to accept two floors of new classrooms, multi-purpose rooms,
and biology and chemistry labs. The buildings were fully occupied with classes in session while under
construction.
