Time flies when you are having fun and that has
certainly been the case over the last few months.
We’ve celebrated with Pets on the Lawn (in the
lounge because of the heat), Melbourne Cup Day
and the Rugby League finals on the big screen.
Andrew, our new Property Services Officer has
joined our team and I’ve been busy in the
background working with, and educating, a whole
new group of cleaners.
I’ve also spent some time working with our
laundry team, to establish longer operating hours.
This is to ensure our residents receive their
laundry in a timely manner and to prolong the
lifespan of our commercial machines. Our
dedicated team always try their best to launder
the hundreds of different items they receive on a
daily basis and now, any unlabelled laundry items
they receive, are getting displayed at our monthly
Resident & Relatives meetings.
We have also been busy rewarding our wonderful
staff for their hard work and dedication through
our monthly ‘Standing Ovation Awards’ program.
Aruna (carer) Veronica (food services) and Lara
(housekeeping) are the latest team members to
have been recognised and we thank them for
going that extra mile for living the Cranbrook Care
values for our residents and their loved ones. If
you would like to nominate a staff member for an
award, we encourage you to complete a ‘My
Thoughts’ form found at reception.
The silly season will soon be upon us, and as we
look back and reflect on a wonderful 2019, we also
look forward to a happy and exciting 2020.

Our staff celebrated Diwali, the Festival of Lights in October with an
amazing feast, colourful outfits and dancing

Housekeeping
As the temperature is starting to rise, we need to be
mindful of keeping cool and hydrated. Please make sure
your loved ones have hats to wear on the garden walks or
bus outings.
With Christmas approaching and lots of extended family
and friends visiting Bella Vista Gardens, we would
appreciate it if everyone can sign in when visiting and also
complete the Social Leave Register when taking your
loved ones out. This will assist us knowing who is actually
here.
We would like to remind you that if you are gifting
clothing for your loved one for Christmas, please
remember to have the laundry labelled added. Also, if you
are purchasing electrical items we need to have them
tested and tagged. Both laundry labelling and testing and
tagging can be facilitated from reception and Rachel will
be happy to help.
Christmas and the holiday season is a joyous time of the
year for all of our residents and families. If you are looking
for a Christmas gift idea for your loved one, a Gift
Certificate for a special pampering session in our
Reflections Wellness Centre would be a wonderful gift.
