4 COLOURS OF CRANBROOK, SUMMER 2017
ESS
IT update Employee Self-Services (ESS) is new for all of our
residences and we’re really enthusiastic about its
launch! ESS is where you can now go to check your
rosters and to submit your annual leave requests.
By Edwina Bower, Group Assets No more wondering in the middle of the night what
& Systems Manager time your shift is the next day and having to call in
to check. No more getting back from holidays and
not remembering when you’re expected back…
You can login anywhere and check your rosters for
the current fortnight and the following fortnight.
What an exciting year for online Annual leave requests need to go through ESS now
too. Please only use our paper form for personal
systems at Cranbrook Care. (sick) leave. You can submit your leave request at
We’ve launched our intranet, online any time without having to come into the residence
and chase down your manager to give the form
learning and Employee Self Service to them. Please be aware that you will receive a
response to your request within five (5) working
through EmpLive!! days. Leave requests for the Christmas/New Year
period and Easter may take longer. If you’re casual,
you can use the “Ad-hoc Leave” page through ESS
Cranbrook Care Intranet to let us know when you’re going on leave.
The intranet is an evolving portal that you can access
from any computer or mobile device. You can find
general information here, the staff handbook, our policies
and procedures and calendars for each residence with
upcoming training, meetings, events, etc. We also have
news from around the residences and a gallery of photos.
To make life easier, we’ve got quick links to the other
systems you may need to access (online learning, rosters,
and payslips). Take some time to explore and keep checking
back to see what’s new. If there’s anything you’d like to see
there, let your DOCS or RSM know.
Online Learning
Online learning has been deployed at Bella Vista Gardens
and Bayswater Gardens since they opened. William Cape
Gardens and Lansdowne Gardens were a little but further
behind but from next year, everyone will be using the
system for most of their mandatory training. The library is
fully accessible for everyone, wherever and whenever (and
from any device too). If there’s any topic you’re interested
in, please feel free to do any of the modules you’d like to
(just remember if you’ve been assigned a module through
a training plan to access it through your “My Training”
page so your managers know you’re staying on top of your
education!!) For Registered Nurses, you can use some of
the courses to get CPD points, just download the certificate
form the “Reports” page when you’ve passed the course.
