Emma Letten: I am currently working in the television team at The Ingenious Group and living in Battersea. Prior to this, I lived the high life, doing the ACA at an accounting firm! I enjoyed three years doing History and Economics at Durham University with a number of fellow Oundelians. I’d like to take some credit for the upcoming Barratt/Rose wedding in the autumn – I believe they got back together at my 21st!
Emily Mitchell: After Oundle I spent three years at Oxford University studying English, which involved reading many books. I had a brief flirtation with the advertising industry, before rather unimaginatively resorting to a career in law. I am now a qualified barrister at 7 Bedford Row in London and spend my time ensuring the Midlands’ criminal underworld remains healthy and well-populated. My other areas of practice are family and clinical negligence (watch out Plum!). I live with my boyfriend of nine years, Joe, in Clapham, a convenient bus-ride from Emma Letten – and Olivia Darby (Sn 08), before she left me for Oslo. Weirdly, Joe’s best friend from school is going out with Alex Miles (G 08), so I have to tolerate spending even more time with him! The Lincoln Oundle 08 contingent remains strong, Charlie Denby’s (C 08) wedding being a highlight and allowing a number of OOs to relive those famed parties from our Oundle years. I’m very excited for the upcoming nuptials of Sam Rose (St A 08) and Sarah Barratt in September!
Larissa Normanton: After a gap year working for an NGO in Jerusalem, doing a ski instructor course in Val D’Isere and helping out at the Doon School in India, I read Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies at Trinity College, Cambridge, with a year abroad working in Muscat, Oman. Work-wise, I have predictably focused on the Middle East, initially in private banking for Gulf clients, then freelance for a number of corporate intelligence companies, a company helping British companies
operate in Middle Eastern markets, for the UAE Embassy in London, and currently on a security project for the British Embassy in Jordan, where I am spending 75% of my time. Fellow OO Charlie Smith (W 08) has just been out to visit.
Steph Peate: I studied History at Somerville College, Oxford. During my time at Oxford I was involved in college and university-level rowing, and achieved a Blue after competing in (and winning!) the 2012 Women's Boat Race. After I graduated, I moved to London and worked in Parliament for an MP for a year, before I decided to train as a lawyer. I completed my training contract with Clifford Chance, which included a secondment to the National Council for Civil Liberties and a year working in our Singapore and Paris offices. I recently moved back to London and qualified into the firm's litigation practice.
Anna ‘Blacky’ Savage: Since getting an MA from Manchester, I’ve been a musician (aka, I’ve had a lot of other jobs). I got to do a pretty sick tour with Father John Misty and a track of mine was on National Public Radio’s list of 100 Best Songs of the Year. I’m still riding on those coat tails three years later. More importantly, I’ve also worked hard to be more stable in my own head. It’s been a massively rewarding and steep learning curve. I hope everyone’s happy in themselves and their lives. Big hugs!
Juliet Scott-Barrett: I'm currently living in Edinburgh, completing a PhD with young kids with autism. They use photography, Lego and voice recorders to help support self- expression and communication. After completing a BA at Cambridge, I taught in Scotland, before returning to do a Masters focusing on Educational Research and Autism. My work has been heavily influenced by the Oundle Mencap Holiday and I am part of the new charity, Supertroop, setting up a similar respite holiday in Edinburgh. I volunteer as a discussion facilitator at Scottish government engagement
events with young people with disabilities and government ministers, and hope to continue in this field. I love to travel, especially to see my brother, James Scott-Barrett (B 05), as he moves around the world.
Eleanor Stephens: I recently came back from a 3,000-mile solo bicycle tour through Europe and will rejoin the working world at an insurtech company.
Camilla Temporal: After Oundle and a year out, I spent four years studying Spanish at Exeter, with a year living and working in Madrid. I then moved to London and quickly realised I wanted to become a primary school teacher, so I completed my teacher training with Wandsworth SCITT. I am currently a Year 2 teacher at Thomas’s Clapham and am also completing my yoga teacher training in September.
Praefa ‘Sai’ Cook Uennatornwarangoon: As I was inspired to pursue my passion for art, I moved to Leeds to complete a foundation course in Art and Design. There I was introduced to the colourful world of graphic design. Four lively years later, I had snapped up a BA (Hons) from Leeds College of Art and Design and a Master’s degree in Brands from Goldsmiths University of London. With a handful of internships under my belt, I started working as a graphic designer for an equity firm in Farringdon. After a couple of years there and a few more back in Leeds, I now live with my husband in Edinburgh, where I work as an in-house designer for a small but international online learning company called GoodPractice.
Elizabeth Winup: After leaving
Oundle and taking a gap year to
travel to China and the West Coast of America, I went to Exeter University
to study Business and Psychology.
After graduating, I then joined PwC,
where I work as an HR consultant to
FTSE 100 companies. I also make
time each week to help the Riding for
the Disabled Association in Hyde
Park. www
