WHAT IS HEAT TRANSFER?
                           WHAT IS HEAT TRANSFER?

Heat energy always flows from a region of higher temperature to a

region of lower temperature. In other words, heat never flows
naturally in the opposite direction. The transfer of thermal energy

occurs only when there is a temperature difference between two
objects or two regions. When both are at the same temperature,

there is no net flow of heat energy.

For example, when we touch a glass of cold water with our hand,
heat energy flows from our hand, which has a higher temperature,

to the water. However, once the temperature of the hand and the
water becomes the same, no further transfer of heat energy occurs.
This phenomenon shows that a temperature difference is the

essential condition for heat transfer to take place.
