The Buddy

Remember it was lockdown time. HEROIC buddied me up with a

lady in Dublin. 300 days is a long time especially in Lockdown :). I

didn't realise the value of this relationship before I started. On

reflection it made the whole experience more meaningful and

was a game changer for my learning and accountability.

HEROIC gave us an intense program, a schedule, discovery

prompts, a huge reading list, a new language and a journey to

do together. We both committed to each others success. We

were lucky to get each other, yet we worked at it and that

probably makes a big difference.

We shone the torch for each other - as a tool for curiosity and

questioning ... and as a shining light on our successes; and for

making sure we celebrated those little wins. We had a blast!! And

we delivered on that commitment to each other.

This was a gift that kept on giving - it enhanced the learning, it

gave us that vital accountability and it created the foundations

for a friendship that continues today. We still do those calls but

not weekly. So if you do go for HEROIC Coach - Buddy up and

commit to being the best version of a buddy you can be :).
