Why Journal? Curiosity and great questions
Life is busy and sometimes we just don’t notice things. It is not surprising - there is
so much going on. We are all works in progress, life is messy and sometimes when
we get near the finish line – it has moved or we have changed direction! The
challenge is to find a way to keep track of everything and keep score on what we
are achieving. Journaling provides the structure to make sure you take note of all
the little and big things. It allows you the opportunity to reflect on your day to day
life - acknowledging the difference between busyness and progress. A journal
prompts you to get curious about where you are going and what is and isn’t
working. It also reminds you of those big dreams you have encouraging you to
ask yourself ‘why am I doing this?’ and ‘what next?’ more often.
Our journal framework is supported by simple and thought provoking questions.
Curiosity feeds off great questions. Hikmaty just provide a structure to begin your
daily journaling habit so you get good at asking better questions. Self awareness
comes from being true to yourself and answering these questions honestly. And
when we don’t know the answer being brave enough to put it out there, ask our
subconscious and patiently wait for some insights. Your curiosity gives you the
opportunity to look at yourself through different lenses – it makes your life more
interesting and more meaningful. As you get more curious it also impacts how
you do your work and live your life.
Growth and Learning Mindset
A growth and learning mindset means you embrace challenges, persist in the face
of setbacks and take ownership of your words and actions - understanding that
effort and feedback pave the way toward life mastery. Your journal is a self
awareness and learning tool to support this. It helps you learn from challenges
and experiences to improve yourself and grow. Whether you want to explore a
new path, develop a new skill, interact with new people or navigate new
circumstances, by writing about your successes and mistakes you give yourself the
opportunity to reflect and learn more. You begin to listen to the words you use,
what you tell yourself, what you are thinking and what you are feeling – doing the
inner work vital to unlock your potential.
