Journaling Paper and pens
There is something very different about putting pen to paper and watching the
Guidance words come out onto the page. It cements your thoughts in physical form and
brings them into the world for reflection and a permanent record for your
& Tips future self.
We print our journals on quality paper that takes the ink from a roller ball pen
without bleeding through. When choosing your Journal aim for coated 80gsm
or ideally higher quality paper. You can get journals that have lined, plain or
dot grid paper (or a mixture). If you are going to incorporate Art journaling
you need to choose the paper quality carefully to allow you to use different art
mediums. Moleskin on Amazon is a good place to start looking. Ideally they
also need to be designed to lie flat for ease of writing.
With regard to pens I use a fine 0.5 nib Arteza or Uniball rollerball. You can
also use a fountain pen, a pencil or a set of bright jelly ink pens. It is a sensory
experience so take the opportunity to be creative and play with different
resources until you find your special way to express yourself.
Questions and Prompts
A Journal may be structured like ours or just a plain notebook. Some people
struggle with what to write about on those blank pages and that is where a
structure can help initially.
If the ideas do not flow it is simply about asking yourself questions and then
answering them on paper. On the next page there are a list of questions to get
you started. You can also look on Pinterest to get some further inspiration.
In addition to questions you might also create some lists: People to connect
with in the next 3 months, places you would love to visit, values you want to
embody, books you would like to read, films you want to watch, skills you
would like to learn, 30 day challenges you would like to try, your feelgood
music playlist, people who have made a difference in your life, things you are
proud of, your top 10 favourites. There are no rules so just be creative.
