Dear Ives Concert Park friends and patrons:
One of the happy discoveries of my first year as president of Western Connecticut
State University was the wonderful event venue on the WCSU Westside campus
called Ives Concert Park. I was impressed by performances of classical music,
children’s theater, rock ’n’ roll, and cultural events that attracted thousands of
patrons.
I found that not only is Ives a delightful place to enjoy a show, but that it is a focal
point for culture and community in the region. WCSU will work with the City of
Danbury and other stakeholders to grow and enhance the concert park for all
residents of Western Connecticut.
Ives is a perfect example of a community partnership that benefits all. The partners
in this endeavor are many and are as diverse as the programming. I extend my
thanks and appreciation to all who volunteer their time and financial support to
make the special experience at Ives Concert Park possible each summer.
