Silver Stethoscope and Best Resident
Teacher Award
The Silver Stethoscope Award recognizes faculty who have
made a meaningful and lasting impact on students as
they develop into physicians. These are the educators who
model clinical judgment, professionalism, and the human
connection that sits at the center of patient care.
Through their mentorship, clinical preceptors shape how
students think, communicate, and approach the care of
patient s - creating learning environments that both
challenge and support growth.
Their influence extends well beyond a single rotation,
contributing to the development of physicians who are not
only clinically capable, but thoughtful, compassionate,
and prepared for the responsibility of patient care.
“fostered an environment where learning is
encouraged… “there is no such thing as a stupid
question”… made an intimidating rotation very
welcoming and enjoyable…”
“took the time to teach and gave us maximum
exposure… building my confidence and
encouraging me to shoot for the stars”
“challenged my thinking daily…constantly was
finding ways for us to learn and teaching points. I
learned from him in ways that helped me in my
other rotations… a wonderful teacher”
“Fantastic educator! Patient, explains well, and
makes learning a fun experience. Challenges
students to go above and beyond and to think out
of the box when it comes to their patients”
