The Ross Years and Beyond: Alumni Panel







                      Moderator: Christopher Bellone, MBA
                      Manager Hospital Partnerships, RUSM
                      Christopher Bellone is the Manager of Hospital Partnerships at RUSM, where he has served for more than 13 years. He began
                      his tenure as a Clinical Advisor and has played a key role in advancing student success and strengthening institutional
                      partnerships. In his current role, Chris oversees strategic relationships with hospital affiliates, supporting high-quality clinical
                      education experiences and effective collaboration between academic and clinical partners. He is known for his operational
                      expertise, reliability, and strong commitment to service excellence.

                      Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Events Management from Johnson & Wales University and an MBA in Health Services
                      from Keller Graduate School of Management. Originally from New England, he later spent much of his career in Florida before
                      relocating to the Charlotte, North Carolina area.



                      Cesia Salan, MD ’25

                      Dr. Cesia Giovanna Salan is a recent graduate of the Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) Class of 2025 and
                      successfully matched into her desired specialty of Emergency Medicine during the 2026 Match cycle. She is deeply passionate
                      about caring for underserved and vulnerable populations and is committed to addressing health disparities and social barriers
                      to care.

                      As she begins her Emergency Medicine residency training, Dr. Salan hopes to apply her clinical skills and experiences to
                      improve healthcare access and outcomes for communities in South Florida and in her home country of Guatemala.

                      As an immigrant and first-generation college and medical school graduate, Dr. Salan is also passionate about mentorship and
                      supporting pre-medical and medical students from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine, helping to foster greater



                      Lazaro Trujillo, MD ‘24

                      Dr. Lazaro Trujillo is an Internal Medicine resident at Broward Health Medical Center and a proud 2024 graduate of Ross
                      University School of Medicine. Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida, he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from
                      Florida International University before pursuing his career in medicine.

                      Prior to medical school, Dr. Trujillo worked in aviation as an aircraft technician, an experience that helped shape his
                      disciplined, detail-oriented, and systems-focused approach to patient care.

                      Dr. Trujillo chose to remain in South Florida for residency because of his strong connection to the community, particularly the
                      Cuban community that played an important role in his upbringing and continues to inspire his commitment to service through
                      medicine.

                      He has a strong interest in hospital medicine, preventive health, and patient education, with a focus on helping individuals
                      better understand lifestyle modification, wellness, and long-term disease prevention. Outside of medicine, Dr. Trujillo enjoys
                      fitness, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors.
