As I begin my medical education journey, I pledge to uphold to my best judgment
and ability the values of Resilience, Inclusion, Service, and Excellence as set forth
at AUC:

I will show Resilience by facing the challenges of this journey with determination
and remaining committed to my purpose in medicine.
I will adapt with strength as medicine evolves, embracing innovation in technology
and new guidelines as they emerge.
I will honor what I know, pursue what I do not, and commit to a lifelong practice of
learning and teaching.
I will uphold Inclusion by seeing my patients beyond their diagnoses and treat
them as individuals with unique experiences.
I will collaborate with my peers to broaden cultural awareness and serve patients
with respect, compassion, and empathy.
I will use my voice to address healthcare disparities and call out social injustices.

I will embody Service by advocating for my patients, promoting public health, and
protecting the vulnerable.
I will strive to improve the health of my patients through prevention and education.
I will empower my community by uplifting every voice and recognizing that healing
begins with mutual understanding.

I will pursue Excellence by being an advocate for evidence-based medicine, ad-

vancing clinical knowledge, and continuously striving to provide the highest stand-
ard of care.
I will embrace opportunities for improvement by my mentors, patients, and peers.
I will uphold ethical responsibility in all aspects of medicine by always practicing
with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
I make these promises and trust those here as my witnesses to hold me accounta-
ble.
I will RISE: Resilient in hardship, Inclusive in heart and action, guided by Service,
and committed to Excellence.
