Keynote Address: “A Journey from Ross

Sanaz Hashemi, MD

Compassionate Care. Physician Leadership. Community Impact.

Dr. Sanaz Hashemi is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine and a board-
certified Family Medicine physician and hospitalist leader based in Los Angeles, California.
She completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Southern

California, where she developed a strong foundation in comprehensive, evidence-based,
and patient-centered care.

Since beginning her hospitalist career in 2013, Dr. Hashemi has held numerous clinical and

physician leadership roles across Southern California healthcare systems. She currently
serves as Director of Clinical Operations with Benchmark Hospitalist and as Hospitalist
and Medical Director at Dignity Health California Hospital Medical Center. Her work has

focused on advancing clinical excellence, operational leadership, interdisciplinary
collaboration, and the delivery of high-quality care within diverse urban communities.

In addition to her clinical leadership, Dr. Hashemi remains deeply committed to medical

education and mentorship, working closely with Ross University medical students during
their clinical training at California Hospital Medical Center. Her professional interests
include family medicine, preventive care, health equity, continuity of care, physician
leadership, and healthcare education.

Born and raised in Iran, Dr. Hashemi brings a globally informed and culturally grounded
perspective to her practice and leadership. Through her dedication to patient care,

physician mentorship, and equitable healthcare delivery, she exemplifies compassionate
leadership and a sustained commitment to improving health outcomes across
communities.
