UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA
ATHLETICS
Run With The Wolf Pack
The University of Nevada boasts a strong athletic
program that means exciting football, basketball,
and baseball games for residents of Reno and
beyond. All of Nevada’s 16 athletic teams are
referred to collectively as the “Wolf Pack,” so it’s
easy to show your solidarity for the full range of
athletics offered by the university. While there are
plenty of Nevada sports to choose from, their
football, basketball, and baseball programs are a
great place to start experiencing some Wolf Pack
pride live and in person.
Nevada’s Division I football team plays at Mackay
Stadium, an outdoor facility in Reno that seats
about 30,000 fans. The stadium has been
renovated a number of times, making it both a
comfortable and accessible location to catch an
exciting game of college football.
Nevada’s basketball team, while not quite as long-
running as its football team, has still been around
for nearly a century. The Wolf Pack basketball
team competes at the Lawlor Events Center in
Reno, and has snagged a number of accolades
during 100 years of competition, including 4
NCAA conference tournament championships.
The Wolf Pack baseball team plays at a much
smaller venue, William Peccole Park, which is
also located in Reno. This park seats 3,000
people, making it an intimate place to watch a
baseball game up close and personal.
No matter which team you choose to support, it
can be a lot of fun to get out there and support
Reno’s local collegiate sports. The mighty Wolf
Pack is just one of many reasons we love Reno.
