AT LOCAL THEATER
Independent, Interesting
Entertainment
For a small city, Reno boasts a rich cultural
and arts scene. We have not one, but two
cool little theaters right here in town. Brüka
Theater was founded in 1992 and has been
proud to call Reno home ever since. The cozy
venue offers couch seating and a constantly
changing variety of plays and performance art
shows for adults and children alike. At Brüka
Theater, you’ll find everything from classic,
traditional plays, to modern, award-winning
productions that speak to the tricky questions
that concern our contemporary life. Brüka also
regularly includes special events in their
calendar to highlight certain shows for “one
night only” engagements that can be a real
treat to catch.
We also get to enjoy the theatrical offers of
Reno Little Theater, which, believe it or not,
staged their very first production at the
University of Nevada way back in 1935!
Today, the Reno Little Theater is now housed
in a new black box theater that opened in
2012. Reno Little Theater is devoted to
educating adults and children about all types
of theater, and regularly produces both
plays and special events designed to engage
the community and widen the reach of the
theatrical arts in Reno. Can't decide which
you'll prefer? No need to decide, because
each of these venues offers their own unique
take on performance in Reno, so you don't
have to choose just one! For more information
on these independent, community supported
theaters, check out their websites at
www.bruka.org & www.renolittletheater.org.
