THE JOURNEY & DREAM
The bundle project was a dream of two friends, Nico Eybers and Bernie Insel, that began about 2 years ago. The project was set out to help other people and institutions become financially independent, with a recurring monthly income. The initial idea was to get funding of about R1 million, (R500k from Nico, and R500k from Bernie), and use CBI as an investment platform. At that time, Fraxions was the product we planned to use, and then to use the proceeds of these Fraxions, to sponsor causes into CBI.
“The project started on a small scale, with Joshua Roos as the very first cause. The funding part proofed more difficult than anticipated,” Nico comments, “but we never ever gave up on our dream.” During lockdown, with the whole Covid-19 pandemic, the need for financial assistance was forseen, but the demand under- estimated. “I approached a lady,” Nico narrates, “who will stay anonymous for the time being, and explained the bundle project concept to her. Long story short, she loved the idea, and sponsored R2 million towards our dream! We decided on the structure, with the help of Ferdie Kirsten, and
that Fraxions and trade will be used from the CBI range of products.” Since then, the Project has achieved to do the following:
• Increased the Founders (Individuals that pledged R500k each to the project) to 21.
• 13 Founder positions were made active. 9 are self-funded (meaning the Founders have paid an amount towards their own positions), and 4 positions were sponsored with the R2 million.
• Since the journey started with CBI, the project managed to earn UHC24 372 (R358 268) on the investment, which made it
