Save Water
Hello friends! What do you understand by the term ‘Save Water’? Saving water
means not wasting drinking water. It is precious, so we need to use it wisely and not
waste it.
Read these sentences and tick (3) the ones which are helpful in saving water and
cross (7) those which aren’t.
1. Turn off the tap after using it.
2. Use a bucket to collect rainwater for watering plants.
3. Filling up the bathtub with water and then not using it for anything.
4. Take a long shower instead of short shower.
5. Neglecting to address and repair leaks in the house.
6. Water your garden with a watering can rather than a hosepipe.
7. Call the plumber if a tap is leaking.
8. Using the hose to clean driveways and sidewalks instead of a broom.
Knowledge Corner
Conserving water also conserves energy. Since energy is required to pump and treat water,
reducing water usage also reduces energy consumption which benefits the environment.
