While you’re lost in thought, you don’t realize that Alex is dramatically leaning back on the wood. Scrambling, you move out of the way just in time. Then you remember how your hand went through Tae, and it doesn’t matter if you touch them. Nothing happens. You get pulled from your thoughts as Alex starts yelling about a traitorous prince, and Tae shoves tissues into her mouth. You’re staring at them, mouth agape. Alex is happy, Tae is flustered, and you’re dumbfounded. The library’s files on these two only say that they got along, nothing about how much they acted like siblings. Alex sits up, pulls the tissue out of her mouth, and swings her arm.
Now you’re falling headfirst. It all happened in a blur, but in an attempt to dodge Alex’s arm (which wasn’t necessary, so you feel like a fool), you tipped yourself off the rafter. The light from the small window gets dimmer and dimmer until you’re surrounded by darkness. You pinch your eyes shut, praying that this doesn’t kill you. How tall was the library again? Oh, but this isn’t even the same library, so you don’t know much about it. You just keep on falling, falling, falling...
